Three Yoruba veterans have died as a result of 2022; now Adebayo has joined them, making four.
Veteran Yoruba actor Kamal Adebayo, also known as Sir Kay, has passed away. He was the father of well-known skit creator Isbae U.
On Tuesday, December 27, Musiliu Akinsanya, alias MC Oluomo, the head of the Lagos State Parks and Garages Management Committee, posted on his Instagram profile that he had passed away.

“With a sorrowful heart, I announce the loss of Alhaji Kamal Adebayo,” he wrote (Sir Kay). May Allah give him rest in the hereafter. Adieu, Sir Kay.
Other Yoruba actors and actresses have expressed their condolences on social media.

Actor Yomi Fabiyi responded to the news by writing on Instagram that hearing of Sir Kay’s passing left him feeling weak.

“Oh, Sir K Warrior, di gba kan naa. Kabbar Wabili. Sadly, old man. I am feeble, “Fabiyi composed.

The comedian has not yet issued a formal statement regarding the passing of his father as of the time of this article.

Other Yoruba actors who died in 2022

The early hours of Tuesday, November 17, 2022, Nollywood actor Olamilekan Ojo, commonly known as Gbatami, was declared dead after losing a horrifying battle with lung cancer.

Yoruba actress Yinka Gbadamosi was declared deceased in June 2022. Ropo Ewenla, a fellow actor, made the announcement in a statement that read: “One stage of history ended today, this morning. In ti wo, Erin The elephant stops rising. At dawn, Yinka Ogundaisi said goodbye to this world. On my lap, Kate Adepegba dropped the bomb. To confirm, I dialed Uncle Yinka’s number. Rudely, it was so.”

Osmond Gbadebo, an industry member, passed away on May 30.

An industry colleague, Fausat Balogun, posted the information on her Instagram page.
