The PDP won’t be upset by Obasanjo’s endorsement, according to Ologunagba, because it won’t mean anything.
As a party, we are not at all troubled by the endorsement since we are aware that it would be ineffective, he added.
Ologunagba made this statement during a phone interview with The Punch, hours after the former president urged Nigerians to support the Labour Party’s presidential candidate on January 1, 2023, on Sunday.
The PDP spokesperson stated that while Obasanjo has the right to support any candidate of his choosing, public support is more significant.
“The support of the Nigerian people is what matters. No matter how well regarded, a person’s support does not guarantee election success.
Chief Obasanjo, a former president, is free to support any candidate of his choosing, but we are thrilled by the overwhelming support for our candidate, Atiku Abubakar, he said.
Ologunagba highlighted the problems the nation is facing and added that Atiku is needed to solve the problems.
“The problems on the ballot include the country’s moribund economy, instability, misery, and hopelessness.
To tackle these issues, the country needs a steady hand, an experienced leader with vision.
Men expressing their experiences at the state level are not what the nation needs right now.
Despite the fact that all of the other contenders claim to have served as governors in the past, none of them have the same level of experience as Atiku.
“Our candidate was chairman of the National Economic Council that oversaw several initiatives and reforms that culminated in the reduction of the unemployment rate to 7%, the consolidation of the banking sector, and the revamp of the telecom sector that has today given millions of Nigerians the opportunity to own mobile phones,” he said.
Atiku is an investment in education who has aided in the growth of other industries, the speaker continued.
