Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Labour Party’s (LP) vice presidential candidate, sobbed on Sunday night over alleged insults made to his family by rivals in the political arena.
The poignant incident took place during the Channels Television-hosted People’s Town Hall, which THEWILL covered on Sunday.
Datti claimed that soon after joining the LP Presidential ticket, his late father was mocked by the party’s opponents.
He claims that once he confronted people who circulated untruths and misconceptions about his principal, Peter Obi, the opposition created the backlog.
He said: “When I joined the ticket (OBIDATTI), I impeached several stories about him (Peter Obi), and especially against my good friend on the APC side on the same level.
“You can tell when someone believes that since they are wealthy and powerful, the position of power belongs to them.
“Someone needs to give them a shoulder tap. I did and instructed him to do so while I completed three. You are aware of my abilities.
“However, my efforts to save Nigeria have come at a great cost to me and my family. They dispatched a variety of individuals after me.
