People typically associate pregnancy with morning sickness, labor pains, and nausea, but there are much, much worse things that can occur to women who choose to bear children.

Here are some of the main points about what it means to carry a kid and how it changes your body permanently.

Gaining weight

You start putting on weight gradually to accommodate your growing baby. Pregnancy causes most women to gain 10 to 12 kg because the body needs to grow extra tissue to provide milk after delivery.

If this weight is not properly managed, it may result in illnesses like gestational diabetes, and even when it is, it is one of the factors that gives women emotional distress as they adjust to their new bodies.

Hair Loss

Due to hormonal changes and the stress that pregnancy places on the body, women experience hair thinning or loss during pregnancy or in the months right after giving birth.

The issue affects 40 to 50 percent of expectant mothers, and the remaining 20 percent may also completely lose all of their hair.

Doctors typically advise taking supplements to restore the nutrients the baby is absorbing from you because, as fate would have it, the mother is the infant’s primary source of nutrition.

Teeth loss

The bones that support your teeth become more brittle during pregnancy because of high hormone levels.

In addition to being more susceptible to tooth decay and gingivitis due to the hormonal change, women are also more likely to experience them during pregnancy when they prefer to eat more to prevent morning sickness.

Because the baby replenishes itself with the calcium in the mother’s bones, a woman who is lacking in nutrition also loses teeth. To prevent this, you must follow a healthy diet and take supplements.

Additionally, to lower your risk of tooth decay during pregnancy, doctors advise practicing strict oral hygiene.

Stretch Marks

The body stretches to make room for the developing baby. Stretch marks during pregnancy are mostly caused by weight gain and straining, and this is something that women never recover from.

Stretch marks don’t currently have a known treatment, but you can prevent them with regular oiling throughout pregnancy and activity.

Brittle Bones

The condition known as pregnancy-related osteoporosis causes a woman’s bones to shatter easily during pregnancy or in the weeks following childbirth.

During pregnancy and breast-feeding, women lose calcium, which makes the bones, particularly those near the vertebrae, more brittle than they should be.

Because young moms typically become pregnant at a period when their bodies are still developing their bone mass, this problem is more noticeable in them than in older mothers.

Memory Loss

Mummy brain, also known as pregnancy brain, is a typical occurrence that 50 to 80 percent of women who have carried a pregnancy to term report experiencing.

It appears as a mental fog that makes it difficult for women to concentrate, remember specific details, or to remember things for long periods of time.

When you enter inside the supermarket, you can forget your phone number, your appointments, and what you had gone there to get. In more serious cases, you might end up forgetting your infant in someone else’s arms and leaving it at home.

Regular sleep routines are advised by doctors to lessen this because it is an awful tragedy in women’s lives and one from which you could never recover if it is severe.
