The statewide petrol shortage that has plagued Nigerians for the past three months has been apologized for by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).
On Channels Television’s special election show, “The 2023 Verdict,” Group Chief Executive Officer Mele Kyari of NNPCL told the audience that the “glitch” will be fixed to everyone’s relief.
“On behalf of all of us, the oil and gas industry stakeholders—certainly not exclusively—I apologize for the situation. After all of that, it is unfortunate. It’s an error. We are in charge of fixing this error. We’ll find a solution, he assured.
When asked when Nigerians will start to notice a reversal, Kyari said he was confident it would happen “within the next one week.”
But the CEO of the oil company added a qualification.
