This invention is being released at a time when the unemployment rate in Nigeria is thought to be around 33%.

Statista predicted that the percentage would be 32.5 percent the year before. Chronological data demonstrate that over the past few years, the jobless rate in Nigeria increased steadily.

For other people, the issue is not a deficiency in education, but rather a deficiency in the abilities and self-assurance required to land quality employment. The demand for physical labor has decreased as the demand for digital abilities has increased dramatically, another effect of technology innovation.

In light of this, 400 young Nigerians were trained in data analytics through a skills acquisition project that GIZ Nigeria, the Federal Ministry of Labor, and Weevil Company collaborated on.

According to Mr. Promise Igweh, the head of talent acquisition at Weevil Company, who talked to reporters on Monday, the training’s main goal was to help unemployed Nigerians. 400 recipients in total received upskilling in various digital skills.

According to the statement, the 400 participants were divided into 100 individuals each course with consideration given to learning environments, timing, and quality. They received training in two groups (Batches A&B). A total of 200 students attended Batch A, which was held for each course from Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. There were 50 students present for each session.

A total of 200 students attended Batch B sessions for each subject, which were held from Monday through Friday between the hours of 1:00 and 4:00. There were 50 students present for each session.

As with any learning process, there are quizzes and assignments to evaluate students’ progress and provide opportunities for them to put what they have learned into practice. To ensure knowledge and retention, the participants were given tasks and classwork during the first two weeks.

For the Graphics design assessments, these ranged from simple designs like forms, texts, and lines to cards and flyers, and for the Web development, Data science, and Cyber security courses, some coding and design problems. According on the tutors’ reports,

The last week of the program was set aside for projects based on what they had learned to round up the training period. Weevil Company awarded a prize to the top student in each course in order to motivate the best students from each class. The project manager and the instructors oversaw the assessment for this task. After the allotted time had passed, the top participants from each course were chosen based on evaluation. Each of these students received a Hewlett Packard (HP) laptop, possibilities for an internship, and learning resources.

“By providing a Certification of Completion to each of the 400 participants, Weevil Company complied with the demands of the full educational process. All participants received certification as well as training materials and freelance possibilities to help them advance the abilities they learned throughout the course.
