Godsgift Uweghwerhen, 25, is under investigation by police for reportedly beating to death his three-year-old daughter in the Aladja community of Delta State’s Udu Local Government Area.
He allegedly used a cane to flog the infant, who had reportedly been ill for some time, inflicting physical harm on her.
PUNCH According to Metro, the guy carried out the heinous deed on Wednesday following the child’s reported entry into his neighbor’s flat.
But when he reportedly saw that the small youngster had passed away as a result of the brutal assault, he is said to have instantly left the scene.
The Vigilante squad in the area apprehended him and then turned him over to agents of the Nigerian Police in the Ovwian/Aladja Division, but Nemesis eventually caught up with him at the Ubogo hamlet close to Aladja.
Bright Edafe, the Delta State Command’s public relations officer, confirmed the occurrence when reached.
