Rotimi Amaechi, a former transportation minister and prominent member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has refuted rumors that he will soon declare his support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the next 2023 elections.
Why Amaechi is unable to back APC: According to reports made by Umar Sani, a former senior special adviser on media and publicity to vice president Namadi Sambo, the former governor of Rivers State had stated that as a devout Catholic, he cannot support the APC’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.
According to Sani, Amaechi joined the PDP in Rivers State since he declared he is a Catholic and will not back a Muslim-Muslim ticket. He’s going to back the PDP.
Sani had remarked, “If there is anyone who can match Wike craziness for madness, boxing for boxing, it’s Amaechi.”
What Amaechi stated in response: Amaechi refuted that assertion and called the man a complete liar.
He is deceiving. On Friday, December 30, 2022, the former Minister is quoted by the Daily Independent as saying, “There was never any time I stated something like that.
What’s happening right now with Wike and G5: After considerable speculation, the G-5 Governors, a dissident group of five PDP governors, have finally decided to support Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peter Obi of the Labour Party as their presidential candidates.
