Obi made the commitment on January 5, 2022, during a party rally in Ado-Ekiti, the state’s capital.
What Obi said: The former governor of Anambra State committed to fight crime, corruption, and poverty.
Obi promised to monitor the unemployment rate to make sure graduates land well-paying jobs.
“Under my leadership, this nation will transition from consumption to production.”
He continued, “Our youths will be adequately cared for and won’t be leaving for greener pastures any longer.”
The founder and chancellor of Afe Babalola University in Ado Ekiti, Chief Afe Babalola (SAN), has endorsed Mr. Peter Obi for president, claiming that he is the most competent candidate to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.
Babalola, a lawyer who will celebrate his 60th anniversary of being admitted to the bar this year, said he and Obi share a passion for high-quality education.
Obi’s educational manifesto
Stakeholders in the education sector are encouraged by Peter Obi’s (PO) pledge to overhaul the educational system through well-designed private business participation funding if elected president in 2023.
In his platform titled “Our Pact with Nigerians,” Obi had promised that, if elected, his government would tackle the reform of the educational system by incorporating private sector involvement in school spending.
