Atiku Abubakar’s immediate withdrawal from the presidential election has been sought by the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC PCC) due to his alleged involvement in corrupt activities.
In a statement, Bayo Onanuga, director of media and publicity for the APC PCC, urged the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate to be open about his health.
According to Onanuga, “a man who wants to run Nigeria and wants Nigerians to have any faith in him must quickly and honestly confront these twin issues: his health and his famous corruption.”
“It’s time for Atiku Abubakar, the 76-year-old PDP presidential candidate, to come clean about two issues obscuring his campaign: his health status and his scandalous confession of how he collaborated with his former boss, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, to fleece the Nigerian treasury using special purpose vehicles after he became Vice President in 1999, the statement reads.
“Following the revelation of his audio clip, in which he gives a vivid explanation into the mode of operation of his storied corruption, Atiku ought to have stepped down from the campaign that he is destined to lose again.
“Atiku’s camp has not yet made any major comments in response to the shocking information, with the exception of a fruitless attempt to distance itself from the source, Michael Achimugu, an Atiku media consultant.
The shamelessness with which Atiku and the PDP have dismissed the news has outraged Nigerians. However, we kindly request Nigerians to reject Atiku at the polls in February in order to hold him accountable for the shocking disclosure.
Even while his hirelings seek in vain to divert public attention from his major challenger by fabricating endless lies, Atiku likewise refuses to discuss his health. Atiku, though, is the candidate about whom Nigerians should be gravely concerned.

The claim by the internet platform, Sahara Reporters, that Atiku was transported to the U.K. from his customary home in Dubai to London for treatment occurred amid the alarm by political analysts that Atiku was missing from the field of electioneering campaign on December 21, 2022.
“The claim has not been vehemently refuted. According to reliable sources, Atiku did in fact become ill while out on the field. He was in the U.K. for medical treatment, but his handlers hid the fact that he had been invited by Whitehall officials, mimicking the earlier trip of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, an APC opponent.
Pictures from rallies have contradicted Atiku’s portrayal as being physically robust and able to withstand the rigors of the presidential campaign, despite efforts by his handlers to do so. In some campaign photos, he was shown receiving assistance while descending steps at stadiums. He occasionally walked awkwardly and dragged his feet.
