The days of Nokia announcing the debut of a new smartphone, whether it was an entry-level or premium model, are long gone. Presently, the majority of mobile devices with the Nokia brand silently appear on the company’s website. This does not imply that Nokia phones are no longer widely used, particularly in developing nations. The company’s popularity at the present doesn’t appear to be impacted by its decision to forego marketing investment.

But, a brand-new Nokia smartphone just shown up on the website of the Finnish business. This very basic Android phone, known as the Nokia C02, doesn’t have many high-end features. The gadget runs Android 12 (Go edition), Google’s version of Android designed primarily for budget phones.

Nokia C02 is made to last even though its specs are modest. The phone includes a 3,000 mAh replaceable battery and has an IP52 rating for protection against dust and water spray (supports up to 5W charging speeds). The smartphone has an unidentified 1.4GHz quad-core processor inside, along with 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory (expandable up to 256GB via microSD card).

The phone’s 5.45-inch FWVGA+ display (18:9), 5-megapixel back camera, and secondary 2-megapixel camera are some of its other standout features. The Nokia C02’s connectivity features are equally basic, including support for Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, microUSB, and a 3.5mm audio jack. If necessary, dual-SIM functionality is also provided.

This concludes our discussion of Nokia’s latest entry-level smartphone. The smartphone will receive two years of security updates beginning with the global introduction of the Nokia C02, according to the Finnish business. Speaking of which, the phone doesn’t yet have a set release date or price, but MWC 2023 is expected to bring forth more information (February 27 – March 2).
