The United Kingdom will observe a moment of silence to commemorate the anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The moment of silence at 11:00 GMT will honor the conflict, which has resulted in the deaths and injuries of thousands of citizens and troops.
On Thursday night, large crowds gathered in Trafalgar Square in London for a vigil.
During a subsequent G7 meeting, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak would push partners to “act faster” in arming Ukraine.
Also, he will welcome Ukrainian soldiers to a reception at Downing Street.
The anniversary of the war will also be observed by other British political figures, with Labour’s Sir Keir Starmer urging the UK to “double down” on support for Ukraine.
The audience at the vigil on Thursday night was moved to tears by actress Dame Helen Mirren’s moving recitation of the Ukrainian poem Take Only What Is Most Important.
Ben Wallace, the secretary of defense, also praised Ukrainian soldiers, calling them “the bravest of the brave.”
