At the groundbreaking ceremony to launch the Kolmani Integrated Development Project (KIPRO), the first crude oil drilling project in the country’s northeast, the governor made this statement on Tuesday, November 22, 2022.
Mohammed remarked that the people of Bauchi state owe the president a debt of gratitude while expressing his respect for Buhari.
“Mr. President, this initiative is going to be one of your most significant legacies,” he added. Not only will it help the nation increase its revenue, but it will also bring about national integration and create jobs and combat poverty.
We really appreciate your help. You have our gratitude forever. You own the state of Bauchi. You are aware that in this state, everyone adheres to the Buharist ideology.
The governor threatened to withdraw from the PDP’s presidential primary earlier this month in a letter to Iyorchia Ayu, the party’s national chairman.
He said that several politicians opposed to his reelection in Bauchi were supporting Abubakar Atiku, the opposition party’s nominee for president.
The governor’s obvious support for Buhari, however, might exacerbate the PDP’s ongoing problem and work against the party’s interests as the 2023 election approaches.
Governor Mohammed made light of the PDP crisis on Tuesday when addressing at the inauguration by mentioning the “G5 and the G1”.
The G5 is made up of five irate PDP governors who have publicly distanced themselves from Atiku’s campaign for president.
