President Muhammadu Buhari plans to put an end to opposition rumors that he is purposefully skipping Senator Kashim Shettima and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s rallies.
Buhari, who declared in October that he would lead the campaign, will appear at rallies for the second time on Monday in Adamawa.
In November 2022, he made his debut at the flag-off in Jos.
Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate, hails from the state of Adamawa, where Buhari would support the campaign with his star power.
Atiku barely defeated Buhari in the state in the 2019 election. In four previous elections, in 2003, 2007, 2011, and 2015, Buhari had easily won the state.
However, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, and Senator Aishatu Binani, the party’s nominee for governor, intend to unseat the PDP and Atiku Abubakar in February.
The candidates want to capitalize on Aisha Buhari’s popularity because she is from the state.
A revised campaign schedule states that President Buhari would also appear in Sokoto on January 15 and Calabar, Cross River, on January 21.
On January 25, the day after he commissions the Dangote Refinery, the Lagos Blue Line, and other projects in Lagos, he is also anticipated in Ogun.
The President will also appear at the rallies scheduled for Yobe on January 30 and Kwara on January 28.
Buhari forbade serving officials from participating in campaigns last year because he wanted them to focus on their duties.
