Concerns that the APC’s presidential candidate is not well enough to lead the nation were dismissed by Kashim Shettima, the party’s vice presidential candidate. He claimed that Bola Tinubu is healthier than him.
This was said by Mr. Shettima last week on the Facebook Live show Fashin Baki, which was hosted by journalists Bulama Bukarti, Nasir Zango, Abba Hikima, and Jaafar Jaafar.
The former governor of Borno claimed that in the election scheduled for next month, Nigerians should vote for either he or Mr. Tinubu.
They are respectable contenders, according to Mr. Shettima, who cited their prior accomplishments as governors. While Mr. Tinubu oversaw Lagos for eight years, Mr. Shettima presided over Borno State from 2011 to 2019. (1999 to 2007).
Nigerians have expressed concern over Mr. Tinubu’s health, with many claiming that he frequently travels abroad for medical care, lacks coherence in his talks, and occasionally has trembling hands, which some think is an indication of Parkinson’s disease.
However, Mr. Shettima asserted that his principle is in good enough health to lead Nigeria.
“Let me make it absolutely clear to you that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is healthy. Regardless of politics, he possesses the physical and mental capabilities to lead Nigeria.
“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is even healthier than I am since he doesn’t have diabetes or high blood pressure, although I do. Even the early Parkinson’s disease that has been discussed is simply a lack of sleep, according to Mr. Shettima, 56, who spoke on the Hausa program.
He claimed that Mr. Tinubu, 70, has not gotten enough sleep because of the amount of work he has had to do for the campaigns, adding that once he does, he will be in good physical and mental health.
Mr. Shettima continued, “Leadership is not like manual labor, like carrying cement bags.
It requires more mental than physical effort.
