Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, gave a speech on Friday in support of Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) nominee for president.
Wike clarified that by assuring Obi that he is presidential material, he is not endorsing the former governor of Anambra State’s bid for the presidency.
According to Naija News, Wike made this statement on Friday in Port Harcourt, the state capital, during an interview with BBC Pidgin.
“If I tell Obi that he is a presidential material, does that mean an endorsement?” Wike asked when discussing his preferred presidential contender.
Wike communicates with Nigerians in 2023 as they wait for the announcement of their preferred presidential candidate. As Nigerians wait for the declaration of his preferred presidential candidate ahead of the upcoming 2023 election, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike confronted a reporter from the BBC on Friday during an interview.
According to Naija News, Wike and the other disgruntled governors who have been at odds with PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar stated in 2022 that they would choose their preferred candidate for president in January 2023.
However, a BBC reporter questioned Wike about his potential running mate for the 2023 election and brought up his pledge to make the announcement.
